Capital Health RN
I work in health care and I am very disappointed with the stance Capital Health has taken. I would be frightened currently to be a patient or have a love one hospitalized with the current lack of support and respect for those whom are the base of health care. I understand it takes a team but without the most important member (the one at the bedside) patient care suffers. Errors are made and early detection is lost.
I am also concerned with our ability to recruit and retain nurses if we are forcing them to choose between their own family and those families they provide excellent care to at work. Scheduling and the ability to choose time off that benefits you and your family is vital. I wonder what data they have that shows that forcing nurses into a set shift with many barriers to holiday time is a step forward in patient care, job satisfaction and decreased sick time.
Sad times for patients and families. One never knows when he or she may need health care. Some of the articles I have read from Capital Health are so wrong. Sad really, sad and so disappointing.
